What a tough few days

It sucks to be misunderstood

You may have heard on the show, that I asked Ben WHY he was out around town spreading lies about me. Thats fair right?

you hire a guy
you have his back
you have him in your home to drink your booze
you defend him when he messed up at his job
you basically go to bat for a bro and THEN he stabs you in the back.

It should be ok to ask WHY right?

Well Bens answer is that he was having a bad day

Regardless of whether I accept that or not it seems many people were outraged that I asked Ben this question ON-AIR.

Everything we do is ON-AIR we live our lives ON-AIR its a show thats real, and honest. Some days we're celebrating other days we reveal personal crap thats going on in our lives. Its the Good, Bad, and the Ugly. Its what my show has been since day one.

Well, the same people that enjoyed listening-in on Bens experiences with women speed-dating, and Nira tearfully describing being drugged in Vegas, and Amy crying over the loss of a family friend, and me getting chocked up as I confess my love for an ex-girlfriend - all on-air - same people are upset with me that I brought another real part of our lives onto the show.

Feelings that are hurt when a friend talks about you behind your back... apparently a little too real for some people.

We talk about everything on the show we all know that, and if theres something we dont want on the air, we each know to keep it hidden from the crew or its going on! Lol.

And hell... if you don't want a topic on the show to be about how you're bashing fellow show members to strangers at the bar... then here's a brilliant idea: DON'T GO BASHING FELLOW SHOW MEMBERS TO STRANGERS AT THE BAR.

Ben was even told well in advance that I would be bringing it up on the air, so he could prepare his case and not be caught off guard.

But the outrage from some listeners of the show, actually makes me mad.

Suddenly Im the devil - instead of listeners understanding that our discussion was meant to promote FORGIVENESS (there was no doubt that i would forgive the dude) it became all about how much of an asshole I am for asking Ben ON-AIR.

It actually blows my mind that people hear what they WANT to hear instead of what was actually said. Come on - youve listened to the show for HOW long? I think you know what kind of person I am by now. God forbid when my feelings are hurt - that i bring it up.

If I could go back - I would not have asked Ben on-air... and I have apologized to him for that. No doubt I can look back and see that I could have handled the situation in a different way.

Ive been Bens #1 supporter for over a year and this week, many of the listeners let me down.

Im getting the worst hate-mail of my life... It's actually getting hard to read to be honest. I have a thick skin, but some of them are just brutal... how ironic is this: I bring up on-air that Ben has sort of hurt my feelings... and then i get flooded with nasty hate-mail. Not gonna lie, tough week.

he doesn't believe he crossed the line and doesn't think what he did was wrong, he only feels bad that he didn't take inconsideration of Ben's feelings on how he was going to approach the situation. Even though he feels comfortable on air, Ben doesn't.

I think that the way he handled things and continuing to handle them is affecting his reputation more then some little comment that Ben made to some chick in a bar. We all know he's a sleezebag and didn't really need Ben to tell us that. He talks shit about his lovelife everyday and I've never met the guy but I know he's been around the block a couple times.

He doesn't seem like he's gonna let up on how he feels about the whole thing. I just am tired of hearing it.

I think I said this before, but I hate it when people do this. Why complain about anything then, cause someone is always going to have it worse...

But if you can't beat them join them. Anytime someone talks about something small I will bring up the plight of Africa (or South America, or India, or pretty much anywhere "not North America").

So I sent boss chris an email letting him know my thoughts. Funny thing, in my signature I have a line stating that the e-mail is intended for the recipient only and is not to be forwarded or copied without explicit permission of the sender (aka me). This is in my school/work e-mail account, so it has validity for staying there.

Anyways, I got a response from Kid today. Not a form letter, he took the time to address my concerns.

However....

The email from Kid, which quoted my e-mail response, had part of my signature removed....the part explaining that the e-mail was intended for the recipient only....Boss Chris.

So it seems Chris forwarded my email to Kid, and took the time to edit my e-mail effectively removing my confidentiality requirement.

I wrote up a response to Kid's email, but I really don't want to get into a shit kicking argument with him; I do that all day long with idiots in school. So I'm not responding any further, but now I'm most disappointed in Chris's inability to understand what INTENDED FOR RECIPIENT ONLY means. No longer is ethical Wishbone disappointed, but he is disappointed in the beat's management.

Maybe NinjaB can confirm that Kid accesses Chris's email directly? Although that sounds a little shady...

Sorry buddy, you don't get to control what happens to your e-mails like that.

An e-mail intended for the recipient only means that it is up to the recipient's discretion who they pass it on to. This is true of post mail as well. It's just that other people are not allowed unauthorized access to mail.
