In the end though, a position you were lucky enough to be promoted into may not be around in 10 yrs or 5 yrs or maybe not even in a few months. What education will provide for you is security (and i use that term loosely). The fact is that if you loose your job you will have a hell of a time convincing someone else to hire you based on your experience and charm. also, you don't have to give up your life to accomplish something. try taking a course or two at a time and see where it gets you, you might decide that school is for you. I liked it better when you were all jumping on Ista for saying whatever she was thinking for those 16 hours she was on the board.
You people read into things way too much. Really. It's an opinion people. Just as you are telling me your opinions. With the exception of this rob character. He just doesn't seem that bright to begin with. I'd like to assume highschool drop out on his part, but I don't like assuming things. And now I'm getting told what I can and cannot do because I read in my spare time? Did any of you bother to ask me if I have ever gone to college or university? Or are you just assuming that I talk out of my ass all the time and really have no clue what I am talking about because you assume I don't have any post-secndary under my belt? I'm not getting defensive here or anything, but this is getting a wee bit crazy with the same 4 people reading too deep into anything I post. I appreciate the fact you care enough about what I say to tear it to the shreds, but there's 90 other regular posters here. :) |

Do you ever have anything intellectual to say? Or do you just let the fingers type what the current thought in your mind is?
I'm curious. I've never seen you write anything longer than 2 sentances. You seem pissed at the world. Group hug Rob? |

you're totally right about this. but unfortunately it just means that you have to watch what you say or deal with the shit, because you've already painted yourself as a target.

Hence why education is also considered an "investment". |

I don't really want to go back to school. I think I suck at it.. i suck @ studying anything i'm not really interested in. Also I think most schools end up being money scams. My boyfriend went to a school that went bankrupt. Which ment even if he had 100% grade wouldn't matter cause the school now did not excist!
It sucks cause i think it has really ruin some opritunities i could have had with scholl but that being said... I do enjoy my job right now. I mean i feel like i am accomplishing things that people respect me and look up to me. That it's a great work place and my staff rock. Though I definutly could not afford to live on my own happily. I buy too many records/equipment/furniture ;) oh and definutly lots of food! I don't always spend my money wisley so it's nice to share everything including exspences! No I will not always be @ this job, but I will make sure where ever i work long term will teach me more and most importantly make me love waking up to go to work! I used to believe that you shouldn't need a degree and that life experience/travel is much more important and I still do believe that to an extent but I now see how much hard work and dedication school takes. In my opnion, a lot harder than just a 9-5 job. I can see why people with degrees make more money and i kindof think they deserve it because if you can study and work that hard it shows something about your character.I especially respect the people who never recieved a penny from family, lived on their own, worked and still managed to get through it.
I can understand why some people don't want to take the school route and i totally respect that as well, it's a personal choice. For those brought up in low income families it is a VERY tough gig to finish a degree and for those who do i give a big kudos! |
