YEAH BUT DO YOU WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE DOING SHIT OTHER PEOPLE DONT WANT TO DO?
YOU CAN ONLY BE A STRIPPER/OIL WORKER/NUCLEAR POWER PLANT WORKER/COAL MINER FOR SO LONG. ID SAY PEOPLE WITH DEGREES GET BETTER JOBS, PEOPLE WITHOUT DEGREES NEED TO BE SPENDING SIMILAR AMOUNT OF TIME GAINING EXPERIENCE IN THEIR FEILD. |

I have a well paying job and I'm happy that I've chosen it for my career.
I know that I have to go to school to get some paper that tells everyone that I actually know what I'm doing. I know I can charge more for what I do after I finish some schooling. I will start saving for school and take courses in Sept. |

ista. i suggest you try to win over fnk's heart using a variety of tried and true mechanisms.
1) tasteful witicisms 2) no racism 3) amusing/nostalgiac pop coulture references 4) accompany posts with unusual images, found with google image search 5) turn up the good, turn down the suck 6) not take fnk so seriously that your posts suggest you're on the verge of a nervous breakdown |

And stop freaking about how people form opinions based on your posts. [sarcasm]Gee whiz, people actually use the things you say in a public place to form an impression of who you are. How unusual![/sarcasm] |

And this is coming from the champ that once told me that she bases her opinions on people by how they post....I believe I've heard this from several of you other monkeys. Good job. |

edit: that is precisely what I was saying in the post you just quoted. |

That's what I was getting at in my first post when I said a good job is 'subjective'. I'd never be happy making $100k a year in a suit, but I love the feeling I get whenever I drive by a lawn I laid and I can say "I did that." I'll probably end up doing landscaping again down the road out of sheer desire, no matter how far I go with this new career move.

that's awesome robyna i'm glad you're loving it...if i could afford it i would be living in that direction for sure

But you do know that the engineers who work in the same oil fields as your brother are the ones who really build stuff and make them work, right?

i 'm was trying to say that the trades and other jobs are getting paid = to if not more than someone with a degree i guess and oil driller was a bad example but as for myself - $80 000 a year once i get my ticket is more that what my college friends are hoping to make |

I hate school but I can't drop out because I'm afraid I will never go back..
I am currently having one of the hardest semesters ever. I am 90% not ambitious and I really dont care about any of my classes, which upsets me. I will feel satisfied just to pass everything.. It's really hard for me, because I live on my own and go to school full-time and have to work alot to pay bills, which cuts into studying.(plus I procrastinate like a motha).. I also dont know what the fuck I'm doing there anymore..I wanted to be a teacher but now I'm not so sure....THANK GOD FOR SUMMER!!..time to relax and contemplate myself is key.. My dad says it doesn't matter what I want to be, that just getting educated generally is important and will halp get you somewhere... I kinda disagree, I think there needs to be passion, and a break from school might help me find that passion.........or not.. FUCK!.. |

- my brother's crew deassbles and re assbles their rig. so no the engineers dont build it - they design it and hope they are right |

I think we both agree on this, but you just think that by post secondary education i mean degree. I mean any sort of post secondary education. I love trades people. In Europe, 80% of ppl who undertake some sort of post-secondary education go into a trade of some sort. *thumbs up*

Sometimes time off really helps you to see what you want to do,I was taking the shittiest most pointless classes for over a year because I thought it was "practical" but honestly if you don't enjoy doing what you're doing there's no point! I'm 21 and i'm starting over but i'm sooo relieved and happy about it! when you're motivated to do something even though school still sucks, it makes a difference. If you think you need time off you should take it because it really helps...also, i feel ya on the procrastinating i'm soo bad for it but you know what sometimes leaving it last minute works out well i know i work better under pressure! I'm forcing myself to take summer classes :( |
