The M.M.A thread.
No more CC so lets post all MMA news here. Ill start this shit off.
Pride 34=Wanderlei Silva vs. Igor Vovchanchyn which is nice cause the card fucking sucked. hopefully Silva does something this fight, i personally think hes gona get knocked out. I like Igor he's got the kinda style Silva doesnt want to go up against. This thursday=UFC on spike- Joe vs Melvin smart man bets on Joe but i have a feeling melvin is gona win. Super close fight on paper. Joe has him in submissions melvin has him on hands and they are both equal in wrestling/takedowns. Should be a really good fight. UFC shootout this weekend! its a pretty shitty card. Georges St-Pierre Vs. Matt Serra= GSP Diego Sanchez Vs. Josh Koscheck= diego sanchez A few days ago a fan called up Koscheck and told him he was coming down to scrap him. heres the vid :) Josh Koscheck UFC Fighter - Mixed Martial Arts PPV: April 14th, 07: Fedor vs. Lindland=fedor haha |

Man, say what you want about Silva being damaged goods now but he is a fucking warrior for taking this fight after 2 brutal KO losses in a row.
Honestly feel that Silva needs some real time off to recover and maybe a tune-up fight to get his confidence back up as he hasn't really had an easy fight since Minowa back in '04 - he's been fighting top comp as well as heavyweights for the last couple years... Sucks cause I like both Silva and Vonchanchyn and i really don't want to see either fighter lose. Should be a killer fight though |

hardstylin- that kos video didn't work for me......could it be that I use a mac? same with the article.....oh well, you posted the meat of it. Just curious, but what weight class would you be?
That's fucked that so many of those suspensions were for weed or other non-steroid drugs. Although, lets be honest here......if you're going to take up professional mma, drop the weed. But I can't see it being worth a three month suspension. And so many of them! What a waste of time an effort. As if weed ever helps in a fight......it only helps stopping a fight from starting! Oh, and consuming lots of protein..... |

Thanks. interesting read. Pretty funny interview. Not a person I'd like to bug while he's trying to eat AND do an interview.
"Yeah, I've been working a lot on my striking and....one sec" WHACK!WHACK!CRUNCH" "And I'm feeling very confident in my skills." Man, you'd be a frighteningly huge 155! You fightin anytime? |

fuck matt hughes. that douche was soo fucking happy GSP lost i thought he was gona run in the cage and blow matt right in front of everyone.
i hope the ufc does shit right and has hughes gsp 3 for the next #1 contenders match after probly matt vs kos for the title. |
|

I think theyll have GSP fight once more before hughes...or at least I hope so. I don't feel too sure about St. Pierre taking on hughes as a fight right after an upset KO loss. They basically gave Lytle to hughes on a platter, cause he didn't do a damn thing. I hope they give the same level of comeback fight to St. Pierre....but I somehow doubt that, and it'll likely be Hughes vs. St. Pierre 3 as soon as they can schedule it. They rushed with rapmage vs. liddell......

This just in:
Nick Diaz's victory over Takanori Gomi has been overturned due to the high level of THC in his blood. Apparently the NASC decided that the THC level in his bloodstream was high enough that it actually affected his performance. Dr. Tony Alamo, NASC Commission's Chair: "Mr. Diaz was 175 [THC level in bloodstream]. This creates a unique situation. I was there at this fight and believe that you were intoxicated and... that it made you numb to the pain. Did it help you win? I think it did." Wow. |
