So amazing!
Your pics are inspiring me to try to learn photography - and especially those techniques you are using. They are totally wicked. Keep the pics coming. Oh, and I have a request - can you take some pics of the city as if you were going downtown from the Lions Gate bridge? |

If you wanna learn more about HDR msg me and I can help get you started.
I'm actually dying to get some shots on the Lions Gate Bridge coming into town but haven't had time to trek out past Stanley Park again. Maybe if the weather holds this weekend.... For now here's some fresh shots from July 11th: Seymour St @ Robson St Granville @ Georgia Granville @ Smith |

Fuckin' bills, can't wait to get my D80... I've already gotten Photomatix for this [software designed for HDR] and read about a bunch of techniques... I only need the hardware now [it does AB as well.]
But, dude... massive props all around. Your shots really are 'off the hook.' Keep'em coming! |

Just curious since your using the g5 from what I understand is that it has "RAW" imaging... are you using and and then just compressing the images into a smaller format? From what I understand the g5 is discontinued however they have the g7's that are out there... Thinking on getting one seeing the quality of the pictures you have been taking and single handedly checking one out. However I have also been looking at a Lumix camera (built by panasonic). Which essentially has all the same features and has a longer exposure time for the shutter (60 seconds I believe) the only down side to it is that you can't use any adapter lenses for it which is pretty stupid..

Don't buy either of those two cameras if you will be needed different lenses, save up for a DSLR. The lens adapter & lenses for the G5 are obscenely expensive (ex $379 for the wide angle lens). With DSLRs dipping down to the $700 and $600 mark there's no reason to invest into an expensive camera with a fixed lens.
Pentax KD100D for $649 Nikon D40 for $669 Canon Rebel XT for $749 Panasonic gear usually contains a lot of Olympus components, and I've never been terribly impressed with their offerings. I would recommend the G5/G7 over the Panasonic in a heartbeat. I'm not sure if the newer Panasonic cameras will let you shoot in RAW format, but that feature is certainly key if you're going to shoot in HDR. Shooting in RAW gives you much more flexibility when you start to do post processing on the photos. I always shoot my photos in RAW if they're destined for HDR processing. I keep uncompressed TIFFs of the post-processed shots and upload 1200x900 JPEGs with 30% compression up to Flickr. |
