Not that I'm being critical or anything because I love HDR shots and you've definitely got the knack of taking some good ones (I'm still experimenting, plus I can't autobracket :( ), but HDR shots may be good for a mag cover, ad, or article cover, but I don't remember when the last time a full article of HDR shots existed...especially in car mags. People want to be able to see the details and lines of the car, not a million highlights from different exposure levels?
Sorry, my inner Mangle is coming out although I'm not in "the business". Maybe you were just taking shots FOR the article cover, in which case, neat! (edit: open box XTi.....fuck, i'm tempted. is that body only or with the starter lens?) (edit2: just so you can see I don't have a leg to stand on actually criticizing your HDRs, mine: Beginning HDR - a photoset on Flickr ) Last edited by wishbone; Sep 16, 07 at 11:27 AM. |

wishbone, I think that showing the lines of the car can be done while using HDR. Obviously, you do have a point, HDR can over-power the shot, but I think frames 1, 4, & 5 show the lines of the car while still having HDR.
That Rebel XTi is the body & an EF lens Don't poo-poo your own HDR shots this one is fantastic! |
