hmm that tall building with the pink outline is the landmark hotel on robson I believe, so I'm going to say he's somewhere in the west end, just west of robson and north of maybe jervis? Though I could be totally wrong

maybe my directions are all off, he could be south of robson and west of jervis? stupid downtown.

The pics on Flickr are geotagged. That's looking west down the alley between Robson and Haro.

- These are HDR shots composed of 4 shots with different exposure times. A single long exposure shot would never get the depth of color or detail that an HDR shot can produce.
- The 4 shutter speeds used were 15, 8, 2, 1/20th of a second
- The camera used was a Canon G5 (with fixed lens sadly)
- The exposures were then run through PhotoMatrix 2.4 and then levels were adjusted in Photoshop CS3
- Of course I used a tripod, no WAY could I hold my hand rock-steady for 15 seconds.

I just came back in from shotting tonight's twilight with a new tripod setup to get my camera farther out from my balcony (I could shoot from the roof, but I love the vertical shot from the gutter to the stars )

*post merge*

Also, miss.myra wins the award for best downtown tracker. These were shot 2 blocks east of Jervis and a 1/2 block south of Robson

Good job!
question....do you use an AEB mode on your camera? Or are you setting the exposure times for each shot?

No, my camera doesn't have and AEB mode, these are produced by manually setting the exposure time. They're all shot with a Canon G5 which is pushing up on 3 years old, so its hardly state of the art. Does the job tho!

No, clouds are in constant motion; 4 shots shot 15 seconds apart from each other results in that effect. I only used Photoshop to alter the levels and brightness settings.
