I have a couple of different views
As a raver: It would be sad to see it go, such a great location and nice venue. As a BC citizen: The plaza of nations is a beautiful spot it can hold many things such as confrences and other special events now and down the road (think olympics) to bennifit the tourism/community. Its not just a "raver spot" . But I can definatly agree that I DO NOT want to see a casino there, there are plenty already. |

Ok. Just got here, and I am not gunna waste my time reading all the replies, so if some one else covered this already i am sorry.
Basically, over the last 4 years, I have heard rummor upon rummor About stopping parties at the plaza. With this latest one, It does seem to have some merit, but cummon ppl, the city has been trying to kill the scene since the media said it was a 'bad' thing. dont worry. if the plaza is lost, rejoice. This will force better, smaller, tighter underground parties. personally, I hate a plaza party, but i see why promoters like it so much, to pad their pockets. What ever. Some new venue will come along. What ever happend to the palace, the budist monistary, the e theatre, the venus theatre... Worry not ppl. P.S. Sorry for the dis jointed ramble, |

Mainstream raves are just as business just as concerts are. Ya, sure, promoters shell out $50,000 to $100,000 on a gamble to break even, for the love of it. please....... people who throw getto parties & smaller events are the "REAL" promoters trying to keep the scene alive. Plaza parties aren't even raves. People just accept them as raves because that's all they know and have been sold (marketed). Last edited by AWOL; Jan 15, 04 at 02:34 PM. |
