i do have ALOT to say, but we all understand.. so yea..
but a big *FUCK YOU MOTHER FUCKING CASINO* i'll curse u to the day u fukin burn down.. :finger: opening a casino to make ppl addicted to gambling is a stupid idea.. :moon: that mite be even worst than ppl taking drugs @raves.. cus if u lose all ur $, u'll either borrow $ from those loan sharks and their just gonna fuk u over and murder u when u don't pay on time, and they'll harm ur whole family too.. then for the not as stupid ones that don't borrow $, and just feel unhappy and wanna relief the unhappiness from the loss of $, they mite take some drugs in order to relief it.. :284: then.. SAME FUCKING THING! so y not go raving and enjoy the PLUR????? :c-tard: :p :kam: :kimmie: :toasted: :PartEkid: :smoke1: :tounge1: god dammmmmmit... they should just expand the building to a bigger size to hold like 500,000-100,000+ venue... and think about that... they will make ALOT of profit if ppl throw parties there each month, well.. i know it'll be expensive for promoters, but then.. we'll just have APEX PROJECT plaza parties!!!! :keebler: |

and to ALL people : (ATTENTION PLEASE READ!)
I really think we should have APEX PROJECT as the last rave party at the Plaza of Nations venue. Because if you know what the party is all about, it is : "A Party for the people, by the people" which makes GOOD GOOD sense and has deepful meanings. All promoters can get out all at once and support the last show at this 100% good venue (not for the $) then all the people can come and pack the venue up. but for the ppl that can't get in due to the overload.. i don't know.. lol... i would bother to help do some planning if i know this will come to reality. :keebler: |

and personally, as much as the loss of the plaza will (temporarily) leave a hole in the scene, what this city really needs is 3-4 legal MID-SIZED all-ages, all-night venues, someplace you can throw a party for 500-1000 people in 1-2 rooms.....you'd be able to book far more interesting talent without having a room where you needed 2000-3000 people to break even and are therefore forced to have the same circuit of b-grade progressive trance djs to pull in the crowds. not that there aren't great djs at the plaza, but when was the last time someone really big like sacha, oakenfold or carl cox palyed there? i'd bet you could even pull bigger talent than the plaza if you had a venue that was a little smaller but didn't have such a huge chunk of costs going to renting the venue itself....

So wouldn't it be our responsibility to let the city know how we feel? I mean we can't tell them what to do with their property, but we sure as hell can voice our need for some space of our own. What about some sorta mass petition (online/offline) about the needs of our scene. Wouldn't that be a good way to voice what's on the minds of many.

i'd always thought since a few years ago that the big room of Croatian Cultural Centre would be a NICE NICE place for an all night party... can be considered as a massive or if u r REALLY REALLY picky about it.. it can still be a LOVELY mid-sized one..
the capacity allowed is 900... which means can probably go over a thousand, i've been there quite a few times and i think fitting crowd sizes of somewhere under 1300 is possible.. or at least some where around that number... but the venue owner doesn't have permit to allow all nite events.. :finger: Last edited by g l o w; Jan 18, 04 at 06:53 AM. |

yay
no more plaza. That means we need more individual people throwing small parties. Shit, if you all have enough to dump $50 or so on a plaza party, you could easily get like 10 people to put that money together, rent a soundsystem and generator and just go throw a lil shindig out in the bushes somewhere. Summers coming up. wink wink |

Well, I'm 20, and I don't see a casino benefiting me at all, just benefiting me in getting broke errrr, boo to casino, I think its just going to bring in more organized crime and scandals which our government already seems to be in the process of fixing, I suggest they clean up their mess before they start a new one, what do you guys think?

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen I have just gotten off the phone with the operations director for Plaza of Nations and indeed a vote has past to approve the rezoning of the plaza of nations to hold a casino not extending further than four years to be re-approved. Renovations will begin in Mid to late July. As for people wishing to throw the last party at the Plaza of Nations that has already been thought of well in advance and now that this has finally gone through we are planning a massive of all massive parties to shut it down. Stay tuned for ticket and show information. A tear drifts down my cheek as the end of an era comes but now I turn to the promoters of the city to be creative and come up with new options. Twisted doing Spooky in Chilliwack wasn't such a dumb idea at least it showed some venue initiative. Here's hoping for a prosperous NEW YEAR for the rave scene. Just reporting the facts just the facts!!!!!
