^that was the first Stephen King book i ever read. it's good from what i can remember.
Ya, it starts off fucked up and just sorta continues along with fucked up events.
In a good way though.
Reminds me a lot of Cell.

^i haven't picked cell up yet. the next SK book i'm going to read is probably Dark Tower 7...been putting off this book because i love the series so much and i know it's all over after this. well, i guess that's not completely true since dark tower references are all over the place in king's books. i can still go back to that world every once and awhile.

I havn't even touched the darktower series yet, from what I hear though it's pretty awesome.

I've read The Alchemist and my friend just lent me Eleven Minutes today. Have you read those?

I also bought a used copy of Valley of the Dolls. Pretty excited to start it.

I was going to make a joke about how strange it is to go from a book like Dancing Wu Li Masters to something in the Shopaholic series, but then I realized that I've read books by both authors as well. :p

i've found every Paulo Coehlo after The Alchemist disappointing. :(

currently reading: A Suitable Boy, by Vikram Seth (so far so good, i'm such a sucker for indian literature.) in the past week i've finished Volkswagen Blues by Jacques Poulin (meh), Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman (not as good as his American Gods, or even Underworld/(Neverworld?) but still thoroughly enjoyable), and The Line of Beauty by Alan something or other (a little too gay-centric).

fabulous books i read while away: Middlesex (Jeffrey Eugenides), and one which escapes me... it's something like "In the Footprints of the Gods" and is a non-fiction exploration of ruins in south and central america, as well as the pyramids of egypt, with the basic premise that these aren't the independent outcroppings of different civilizations at different times, but the remnants of a residual common history of a great civilization that existed before the last ice age... ring any bells? i'd love to get my hands on another copy.

i love books. :)

Good book, try to ignore the drama that has surfaced around it and just appreciate what he wrote for what it is. It's a good book and can definitely turn anyone away from any form of substance abuse, that's for sure.

the story is way slowed down from the last book. I'm only half way through and not terribly impressed.

it definately picks up...not in a all out war kind of pick up though. a couple of pretty interesting things happen that will affect the seven kingdoms for a looooong Time to come. originally the book was supposed to have all of the characters that we really love, tyrion, jon, and, if you're into little magical boys, bran, daenerys, but he found out that the book would be too long, so the fifth book will have all the really kick ass characters and will be coming out sometime this year.

The next one better be better, this one was good but nothing compared to the last one.

Notice how much more sexual it got? In the 1st book there was next to no sex. Now everyone is fucking everyone but the horses, I'm sure that'll come about in the next book too.

i got the perv vibe off of him when he was doing his book signing here. some chick was asking him some question about his comic book series and he was totally drooling over her. he might be a creepy old man, but he sure has one Hell of an imagination.
