on a more relevant note:
i don't really buy into all this stereotypical bullshit that people have been spouting in this thread about whether women are more rational or more vindicitive or more manipulative etc... both men and women can have these qualities, they don't belong to one sex. if women ruled the world, i don't believe that would be fair. just like i don't believe if men ruled the world entirely it would be fair. since women make up just over half (i think) of our population it just makes sense to have the same percentage of women in political leadership roles. one sex shouldn't rule above all the rest. this isn't really the way that it pans out in most parts of the world, but i think it should. ps. ironic for the subject of the thread that fable decided to insult that hypnotic chick by calling her a 'princess' ect... way to rise above the gender stereotypes, fable! once again we all here at fnk bow down to your superior ability to make yourself look like an asshole with hardly any outside help at all! |

hmmmm, thats definetely a valid comment. But, whos to say that women would take over the old steretypical roles? I agree with the comments revolving around the stereotypical "rich white feminist" The other thing to think about as well, is that i wasnt being literal. Rather im talking about getting more young women involved, or just spreadng the belief that women are more than capable of taking on leadership roles. No one sex should rule,, but there is a whole lotta precedent to bring into context at the very least. |

"I agree with most of the feminist philosophy I have read. I agree, for instance, that men are vein, brutal, greedy assholes that have just about ruined this planet because they're afraid someone might have a bigger dick than them out there. Men are basically insecure about the size of their dicks and so they go to war over it. You don't have to be a political scientist or a history major to understand the bigger dick foreign policy at work. It goes something like this: 'What? They have bigger dicks than us? bomb them!' And, of course, the bombs and the rockets and the bullets are all shaped like dicks!" Quote:
When Hilary Clinton gets elected president (and if anybody female is in the states in the next 15 years, it'll be her), i don't foresee it being much different than when her hubby was. Heck, maybe even she'll get her own intern scandal! |

calling a women a princess because i feel she was being caddy, or pretensious has nothing to do with gender roles it would technically have to do with class roles. If you stopped judging what other people say 24/7 and actaully spoke up and shared an opinion, you might actaully learn how to make point. Until then, understand that politics and policy discussion isnt always "correct" or "nice" And understand that relevant discussons turn into flamefest right fucking quick, and so my "demenour" will change as well. I fail to understand how you can single me out? You admitted to not even reading my posts, but perhaps if you did, youd realize that your judgements are usually skewed If you want to continue this go ahead, but perhaps we can switch to the actual discussion? Stop taking things so literally, yes women and men both are prone to all matters of behaviour, but that has nothing to do with the fact that the reality still sees the majority of leadership roles going to men. We can say women will do the same job all we want, but they havent, and thats the issue. Fighting about the issues is one thing, but im really tired of the lame back and forth. I know you gots smarts, so pair it up with the thicker skin, many accuse me of not having, and we can get some good convo in gear - ya dig? A intelligent girl attempted to convince me again, that fighting hate with hate really only desroys everyone involved, so yet again, ill take another shot at being civil...up to a point peace+respect shak |

I also can relate to the first part of the rant as well. If you take a tad more metaphorically, it answers a few questions atleast. 1)Judging the ability of women to lead on two three 100 corrupt women still doesnt fly, comparitive to how many important leadership roles there really are(perhaps thats the problem?) 2) I could agree on your bit about judging our ability on sex, BUT that still doenst account for the massive desparity in how many men lead, and how many women do, and it sure as shit doesnt disclaim the need for more female leadership. |

Point I'm making is that in order for the women to become world leaders, they have to be just as politically conniving, brainwashed, and corrupt as all the other political figureheads, or else they would not be able to be political figureheads. This is the nature of politics, not of men ruling. Quote:
But this is entirely an equality issue as opposed to a "how we can fix the world" issue. I don't think that more females at the top is really going to be an improvement except for that it says that we don't care about gender in ability to lead. And yes, I do enjoy being smug. Fucker. =P |

The fact that we're still overcoming the social stigma that is attached to the parties against letting a woman run for office let alone win it is a shame, but I don't like it when people always refer to women as nurturing, caring, other "mother"like qualities under the assumption that these types of traits would therefore translate into political agendas somehow. Women politicians are just as evil as the male ones. And the more I think about it, the more I find myself vehemently opposed to most female politicians I've witnessed. Christy Clark, Sheila Copps, Deborah Gray, Libby Davies, Jan Pullinger, Preston Manning (ba-zing)... none of them that I'd really see myself backing. Maybe that hot conservative chick (this is what we call an "oxymoron") who defected to the Liberals. But like, christ, it takes a defection to get my vote? Howzabout we get some better women running for office and maybe we can get a few elected, hey? |
