^ I was never a huge fan of yoga... at least excersie wise. However there are tons of yoga-philates combineded classes out there! My instructor already includes some yoga in our class. Otherwise alot of philates is based on breathing and proper technique anyways.

If anyone is interested, there's a book written by John Stanton (founder of the running room stores, and the dude that writes the programs in the province newspaper for the marathon team) called "running: start to finish". This book is a running bible. I know books aren't for everybody, but it's grade 7 reading level and very short and to the point.
The book has 19 chapters and basically teaches people to run. From building your program, to stretching, types of running, nutrition, strength training, and women's training. It even comes with a very handy training schedule for a beginner, intermediate and advanced runner. I highly recommend it, and no i'm not related to him or anything. |

I've noticed that I watch a lot more tellie than I used to. I think being sick so much over the winter I was home more to get caught up in prime time tellie shows. I'm looking into making a deal with myself to only get to watch tellie as much as I am exercising.
For example, during the week there is about 4 hrs worth of tellie I enjoy watching (weekly shows), so I should be doing about 4 hours of exercise per week. With a recumbant bike in my downstairs rec/tellie room and a bowflex arriving soon, I might actually be able to make this happen. In fact, I could be peddling WHILE watching American's Next Top Model instead of kickin in on the couch. I'm not on a mission to lose weight or shape up, I just recognise the benefit of being physically active. I am also looking into a new yoga class, and considering going back to dance now that I'm done with cold/flu season. |

A guaranteed way to lose 1 to 5 pounds is to do the following:
1. Wake up and eat breakfast. 2. Don't eat anything for the rest of that day. 3. Break out at night and go to a rave (hardcore rave preferably) and rave your freakin' soul out. Once you start sweating and feel sweat running down like a waterfall, then you know it's working. 4. Keep yourself hydrated with small doses of water or Red Bull (optional). 5. Go to sleep at 4 or 5 AM. 6. Wake up the next morning and weigh yourself. Congratulations! You have just lost 1 to 5 pounds! For best effects of this therapy, repeat three to four times a week. |

hey there!! I would just like to add that about 2 yrs ago I used to weigh 165 pounds, and I tried everything I could to loose the weight. I worked out everyday and ate very healthy.... but no luck until..... I went to a naturopath!!! You see before I used to take anti depressants which slows down your metabolism which can make you gain weight, and since that crap stays in your system (stores in your liver) just like any other chemical.... Your body wont return to its normal weight nor work properly until it is flushed out. You need all of your internal organs to be working 100% properly in order for you to be REALLY healthy. So I took the Chinese medicines that my naturopath gave me and within 2 months I dropped 40 pounds!! I wasn't fat I was just retaining water basically. I didn't excersize or change my diet ( at that time I wasn't on a diet ) and it just dropped off me and I still to this day can eat whatever and not gain weight.
I can reccomend a really good doctor if you would like. Anyone should try and go see a naturopath!! If you are feeling tired all the time or if you crave lots of sugar it just means that you need to clean out your system. When I say crave lots of sugar that usually means that your liver is out of balance so to speak and you need to clear out all the junk that gets stored in there. I didn't go to the nauropath to loose weight, I was going because I have a medical condition that I was trying to fix with natural remidies instead of all the stupid pills my specialist tries to give me, but he told me that I should expect to loose weight because my liver was going to be cleaned out. The only down side to this is that naturopathic doctors are not covered by the government and so you have to pay.. which can range from about 150$ to 200$ the first visit. On the first visit he does an hour long orientation with you ( nothing an orinary gp would do)... asking you questions regarding your health, your diet, if you've done drugs....so on and so on.... and then he will take the pulse from all your main internal organs.. which I never knew you had... and then rate them on a scale from 1 -10. Mine was a 4 for my liver!!! lol BAD.... and then from there he will prescrib you the right medicines for your problem. The orientation was around 80$ and then the rest of the money went to the medicine.. but I had a lot so it might be different for anyone else. But the good thing is you don't have to stay on them forever.. I was only on them for 6 months. There is also a naturopathic college in New West, where you can go and get cheaper prices.. just means that students will work with you instead of doctors. But I'm telling ya.... try to stay away from any kind of chemicals!!! Tylenol, aspirin ...... jib.... E or anthing!!! This shit stores in your body and puts so much strain on YOU!!! If you are sick.. dont take pills to help unless its a really bad infection or something.. Just eat lots of GINGER and PEPPERS!!! They both fight off bacteria!!! Lemon, ginger, and honey tea is the best for a cold of flu!!! Just wait it out... it will take a little longer to get over the cold... but your body will thank you so much in the long run for not taking crapy chemicals. Just think about it, western medicines have only been studied for about 100 years or so... where as Chinese medicines have been studied for over 4000 years!!! You'd think they know what they are doing!! |

^ Hey, I went to that naturopath before for other things and he did a really, really good job.
Def. reccomend him. Note: naturopathy is not covered by provincial health plans, if you get extended benefits check w/ your provider first. But it is well worth the cost! |
