Oh well, we've got a great night lined up with two award-winning Breaks producers and we're pushing toward capacity at a venue that people aren't sick of. Rock on, SPK |

well..... i don't think that woods intention was to "diss" your show as you so grasiously put it,(considering the only thing wood has to do with Lucky Break is play records at it) but seeing as you've decided to air out your dirty laundry in public i may as well entertain you with a response. It is a shame that your party ended up being booked the same night as Lucky Break, Malente is OBVIOUSLY a more sought after and respected artist internationaly than Midi and the Autobots put together, so i can understand why your crew is sour about this. Matty and i have had no interest in becoming a part of your so called "dirty pool" because of date conflict as we don't see your party as any sort of "competition" to ours. You guys seem to be very proud of the fact that you have "almost reached capacity" at a venue that holds no more than 250 patrons MAX... good on ya. I'm wondering if some of your "sold out crowd" will be more inclined to come see MALENTE in a room that holds 300+ (1 of 3 rooms) at a venue their "sick of " once they realize there is no possible way to fit more than 100 people in the room Midi/Autobots are playing in? When it comes down to it, Beaumont Studios is a nice venue, but is set up absolutely shitty to have one, let alone two headliners play at which is why NOBODY, with the exception of you guys has done it. Anyway, if you guys have any other he said / she said bullshit to throw my way, please do this by msg'ing me or calling me, so we can sort this out face to face instead of "cleverly" polluting eachothers threads. r- |

That being said, I fully agree with your estimates of the capacity at Beaumont. They've hosted parties of 350 ppl, but we all agreed this would be way too crowded for our guests. We decided to cap the event at 250, which matches your equivocal assessment. In terms of the main room, one thing I strongly disagree with is your suggestion that "there is no possible way to fit more." I guess if you're not accustomed to exploring new spaces, you miss things. At POUND we have a lot of experience with this kind of thing and we're not afraid to take some chances. In scoping the Beaumont we noticed that each row of seats in the theatre is held down by 6 tiny little screws. We got permission to rip out half of the seats & risers. I figure this will increase the floor space by a quarter to a half. Even so, these are just minor details. It sounds like you guys are going for the big party vibe and we're going for something more intimate. It was foolish of me to think you were taking underhanded shots at us, given you've got IMF to worry about. So good luck with that and sorry once more for assuming Woody was playing dirty with his comments. I hope you can appreciate how it might have looked to me. |
