My Fastfood Review
Fastfood joints I like and why:
Outlet: Wendy's, Langley, Fraser Hwy before Langley Bypass Throughway. Reason: Once, I was given a meal that I didn't order. I didn't give it back because they don't do refunds. So I Googled the outlet and location, and called up the manager. After providing my description, she assured me that she'll see to it that next time I come it won't happen. Next time, I ordered a meal and the clerk took my order. I got exactly what I ordered. Outlet: A&W, Surrey-Newton, King George Hwy just before Shoppers Drug Mart in the mall that replaced the Ozone, the skidrow hotel and the stripbar. Reason: The grilled chicken burger is the best! The root beer hasn't changed formula since I was a kid, even though it is OEMed by a supplier that also supplies Barq's - the only difference is the labelling and maybe they changed sugar and phosphate content. Tho, the fries need work because they get them from the same supplier that supplies the competition. It wouldn't be fastfood if they had to prepare their fries like a fish & chips shop. Outlet: Church's Chicken, 105a Ave & King George Hwy, right after the Rickshaw. Reason: they are the only ones to have rice dishes, which I attribute to the fact that the main franchiser for Metrovancouver is Pinoy. Although it's a mix of white, South Asian and Filipina workers, the majority is Filipinas, but the rice dishes were added because South Asians and Filipinos like rice hot and spicey like that. Outlet: McDonalds, any outlet cos of the consistency. Reason: Grilled chicken wraps with hot buffalo sauce with a medium strawberry shake is the best meal even though the shake raises both the calories & the fat and cholesterol levels. It's still the lowest fat content out of all the meals. The salads are great too. So it is possible to maintain or lose weight but not get a carbohydrate-stacked, protein-poor and fatty meal, despite the hype of Supersize Me. I am not doing a full review of all the fastfood joints I tried. Orange Julius is fastfood, but it's not remotely unhealthy cos they stopped adding the protein powders and shit but went back to what they do best: whizz up fruit into a healthy drink that can replace one meal in the large size. Now only if they had real passionfruit as an option to their multifruit specials, I'd be blissfully mellowed out drinking it with mango and banana. New York Fries is fastfood, and makes the second best fries after the chip s shops. The poutine is a wonderful way to a stroke and CVS problems, but you can buy extra chopped onion to sprinkle on top! Though, it would help to introduce more greens and tomatoes. But then it'd no longer be all about home cooked fries. |

i eat less fastfood than i did five years ago.
the way i eat fastfood is like the way catholics eat fish, except i do it less than five times a month. plus i eat less often than you kids do. i have one main meal a day, and snack constantly. my favourite snack is dark chocolate, but i eat that about every other week. it took me about 30 years to go from 85 lbs to 115 lbs, and imho i am 4.5 lbs (2 kg) overweight. 115 lbs for 5-2 is a BMI of 21-22. 110.5 lbs would be about 20.46 imho all i'd need to lose 4.5 lbs would be to drink low fat dairy products until the high phosphorus content in cowsmilk gave me false lactose intolerance. tho i'd get too flatulent before it came to that.
