I think what people need to understand that it is ifar more important for a country to have leaders and a foreign policy that work WITH other nations and not AGAINST them. Lest we forget the USA got themselves into the war on terror largely due to their foreign policy (or lack thereof). If we are a nation that truly believes in peace and reflects that in how we deal with others then why would we have any reason to be afraid? If you really believe this country needs a fortified military to 'protect us from being attacked' then I believe you have truly been injected with the same fear that American citizens have. It is with that fear that politicans can justify spending billions and billions of dollars (that their country doesn't even have to begin with) on only millitary and not on anything else. Has the example of the complete economic downfall in the United States taught anybody a damn thing about it? I'm sorry, but I still believe you are totally brainwashed if you think that the 'shit hitting the fan' is only days or months away from coming instead of having hope that we can build towards peaceful ties and not start wars.

Rob, how could I possibly know which side is right? I'm not a scientist, and even if I was I'm not so condescending and arrogant to believe my own opinion to be the ultimate truth and fact.

HOWEVER, when their is still HEAVY debate and contradictory evidence on the subject, I would prefer to not cripple our economy and make massive concessions just to stop something that, on the global scale, scientists can't even come close to agreeing on if it's actually happening.

To be in complete favour of doing so, you either have to be an idiotic alarmist, or the concessions won't affect you too much(or so you believe)
