Maybe it's not so much a problem with secuirty as it is a problem with the certain types of people going to certain parties.
Maybe the problem is that you're a half functioning retard? In fact I know it is =)

And just for the record, BAL!S, the statement I suppose was a little to broad a word, but I do find that most, if not all of rap music is associated with some kind of violence in one way or another, and that if conditioned long enough with the specific genre of music, one would be much more inclined to perform a violent act, especially while under the influence of drugs/alcohol at a club/party, or any event for that matter.

I know bad things happen in any event, but I do believe the chances or problems are greatly increased by the specific genre of music played and the crowds they bring in.

Guilt by association, really. Hope you catch my drift.

this debate is old and tired and we could go on for days ....im not realy into that
i noticed that you refer to it as rap in this post and hiphop in your previous post...im not sayin that this makes your statement more valid, but i do consider "rap" and hiphop to be diffrent from eachother in manyways....and you are entitled to your opinion just as i am ...i was just stating mine

Do we ever learn?

Maybe we should all try to step back a moment and stop pointing fingers at whoever you have in your own minds whose fault it is, and while we're at it stop saying heated things when we go into ultra defensive mode. I'm 100% certain that there's been lessons learned on behalf of the promoters as a result of these actions, and I'm also certain that we don't need to keep bringing up things that have already been discussed. No matter how much people scold them, it's not going to change a thing that happened, but the lessons learned can perhaps change things from happening in the future.

Anyways, we shouldn't forget what we saw. And we should not have negativity towards eachother coming out of this at all. So please, try to respect eachother.

too well said, not enough pink karma in the world for you myra <3

Uhhh so it's cool to stereotype people who enjoy a certain genre of music but not cokeheads? That totally makes sense.

I heard that these dudes had beef with eachother over a girl or something, Bonnie was outside when the first fight happened, and she said the girl was so scared she was trembling, apparentley she was trying to tell security that these dudes were crazy asains and that they were gunna come back and ended up leaving the party cuz she was so fuckin scared.

Nah, I read it. But you need to understand that you saying that it increases the chance of trouble happening IS stereotyping.

You yourself say that it's wrong to generalize cokeheads because you know people that aren't total sketchy fucks that do coke. Its safe to say your chances of becoming a sketchy fuck increase exponentially when coke comes into the picture, no?

Aaaand in the same breath, I could say that I've been to MANY MAHY hip hop events over the years and this is the FIRST thing like that I have seen happen. And truuust me when I say it, but the instigators are not the type who go to hip hop shows.

Stereotyping or not, hip-hop/rap shows do increase the chance of trouble happening, i'm talking about a genre of music, not people. I know plenty of people who listen to rap/hiphop religiously and dont get violent, but their are people that do, especially if placed in that kind of environment. I also know sketchy fucks that do coke, but that's a completely different subject. I'm not going to re-think my views on cokeheads, because the difference between a genre of music and doing drugs is a completely different subject all together.

I personaly wont go to a hip hop show because of from past experiences and from what I've seen. This could of been an all trance show and the same problem came up, but then again the people who came to the party originally who brought this all on; may not have been there because of the type of music played.

If you say you have been to plenty of hip-hop shows and have never seen this kind of behavior before, then maybe you either didin't see it, or you were lucky. I however, can stereotype this genre of music all I like (in by the way, I do listen to it, just for the record) because actions do speak louder then words.

I've seen more fights at Top40, granville street clubs than years and years of hiphop shows I've been going to.

You just aren't going to the right shows.

Cool, we'll stick to agreeing to disagree on this matter. You can steer clear of hip hop shows, I'll steer clear of coke for the same reasons! :p

honestly - I understand that there were a lot of people trying to get in and I understand that they likely outnumbered the security especially with weapons and all.

but I fully agree that this IS what they were paid to do - weapons or no weapons, and if something like this COULD happen security HAS to be prepared for things like these perhaps getting better equiped security or more security. because I realize it is not entirely their FAULT this happened, nonetheless it did happen when they were getting paid to protect the party.

we go to parties in full expectations of being safe. I am not blaming the promoters by any means, the companies that threw this party had know intentions this was going to happen. but I feel that if we plan to party safely, even though nothing like this can ever be predicted, we have to be prepared nonetheless.

just my two cents.
