Never got out of second gear because it was just around town. The low end grunt in that thing is scary.
For anyone who has the chance to drive this, be aware!!!! You've got 500ft.lbs of torque attached to your right foot! If you're not careful, you'll have the back end of the truck wrapped around the pole across the street.
As far as the actual truck goes, it's amazing. People stop in the middle of intersections to grab a look.
The gear box is as smooth as can be, nothing like a "chunky" gate you'de find in a regualer truck tranny. The suspension is sports tuned, you're sure of that when you go over some rough areas but generally road noise is kept fairly quiet with only large cracks and bumps creating any real banging noise in the cab. These tires are fuckin WIDE! Not too sure of the specs off the top of my head, but they grab everything, so you have to make sure you're prepared. All that grip makes for some fast launches, you actually have to ring the shit out of the engine to get the wheels spinning. Yes, it's a hell of alot easier than trying to get the 20" wheels on Hemi spinning, but you have to let the tach rise a bit, no what I'm saying? Can't really say anything about cornering or anything cause like I said, I was only around town.
One thing I can say is that with one push of that little red button, you'll have a crowd around you in know time.

I have never actually driven a Lightning. The new one promises to bring some competition out for the SRT-10, but Dodge will respond. We're in the midst of a Horsepower war and it's being played out in the truck market... that's fucked up and very cool.

The same things can be said for the SRT-10 Viper, only more intense because it's a half the weight. Big difference between 5 second 0 - 60 and 3.9 0 - 60 (Both Car and Driver tested times).

I can seriously say though, that the 300C is by far my favourite Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep product to ever come out.

Thats cool
The lightning is only 380 HP
SRT is 500... yet the lightning can keep up without any trouble..
I wonder what will happen when the 500 HP lightning is out....
I love the viper but i think the ford GT might be a bit faster.

I don't think the 500HP Lightning will be much faster then that Ram. You can only go so fast in a truck. The drag coefficient in the Ram horrible, just look at the front end. Take the two trucks to a track and the Ram will rip the Lightning apart. It's a Sport Tuned truck, not just a 1/4 mile animal.

The Ram is all about excessivness and right now they hold the record for the fastest full size pickup.

As far as utlimate performance goes, the Lightning is no where near the SRT-10.

The GT yes is faster than the Viper, but they are two very different automobiles. The GT is a more refined, race-bred supercar. The Viper prides itself on being "less than" refined. You could say it is more "hardcore" than the GT. I mean... 8.3L producing 500HP sounds alittle low, but that's the thing, it's all about the image.

Anyway, the Chrysler ME will be the Supercar to rule them all, seriously. Betchya never expected it from Chrysler, eh?

Oh for sure, no worries, man! Can you tell I'm a bit partial to DCX???!??? Hahah.

But yeah, I totally respect the new F-150 Ford is coming out with. The interior design on the upscale models is amazing, but I am disgusted at the base model... I mean, it's GM kind of low, heh. The new V8 is awesome too! 80% of the torque is created before 1000 RPM, that deserves some respect right there. They are a solid truck, for sure.

Before 1000RPM? My peak Torque on my 302 is at like 2400! (Something like 250lb/ft Tq.)

Just cause you wash vehicles/work at some little dealership in K-town doesn't mean you know the business.

I'm involved in a lot of aspects at the dealership, washing vehicles is what I get paid for.

I know the business because I am an enthusiast and surround myself with people that are actually in the business.

Like what? Your friends that wash cars/ change oil. If you where such an dedicated car nut why do you only lease new vehicles? Evan if I don't want to drive a muscle car i have alot more repesct for them building and maintaining one of them then some fool with money coming in and getting some overpowered/overstyled Viper that has warnings on the door sill not to touch it cause it could serious burns.

How many engines have you rebuilt?

That's great, so you know how to sell cars to people. I did valet parking, I've driven all kinds of things and was able to compair them to and equvielant veichele of a different company.

How many engines have you rebuilt?[/quote]I know a number of different automotive reviewers and critics, and I know 2 people that own 8 different dealerships between them. Not counting all the technicians.
The SRT-4 is going to be my first car. Yes, if I really wanted to, or had the kind of money, I would build and maintain a lot of different vehicles. I don't though, I just turned 18.

I have rebuilt two engines. A 5.7L Vortec which was then installed with twin turbos. And then a 1.6L from a Dodge Colt.
