this party went off without a hitch, and that's probably due to the CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP of the venue from the last time i lpayed there...

^it's not a big of a deal as everyone is making it out to be. flipmat fucked up because he's inexperienced and doesnt know how to manage the costs of throwing a party, and even though he may be mouthy it seems like he understands this and has learned that it's not easy to throw a legal party. now he has better chance of success. isn't that a good thing?

people paid $40 for a legal party at a decent venue, not shitty korean and the possibility of going home early. and yes, part of that amount goes towards seeing the dj's but the reason people paid that much was for the promise of a better venue and the fact that money was put into making the party legal.

would be you totally satisfied if you bought a ticket to a concert that was supposed to be at gm place but then last minute you find out its in some coffee shop? think about it before you reply mr or ms big time dj.

Rowina is absolutely right, 40 dollars? for fuck's sake... what the fuck kind of prices are those? oh yeah and balis, *i highly doubt that average citizen came up with the prices*.

baby traits stop trying to prove that this party went REALLY WELL, if it went really well i wouldn't be holding a flyer in my hand that says maritime labour center, and for SURE it wouldn't say FULLY LEGAL.

well your right, im not from vancouver and i just moved here, The korean was a decent venue compared to some Nelson bullshit. Apparently Matt didnt have enough $ to pay all of his DJs. Matt didnt have enough $ in the first place to get all the insurance at once. I pretty much went to the party for the music to see Capital J. The sound at the party was really good, and it didnt get shut down. In my opinion id rather have an illegal underground party with minimum security and half the trance, than a fuly legal, maximum secutity, and all the fucking trance that is played at the main stage.
and i would be pissed off if i bought a concert ticket and it was in a coffee shop, but it was a fucking rave, and i was much happier seeing J in the main room than in the small room!. no complaints.

Actually the price I would say was mostly based on the Venue MLC is a very expensive venue to hold parties in. The DJ's couldnt of been all that expensive they didn't have to fly in or had super huge deals with big companies. So next time before ya go flappin your mouth try to do a little bit of research you asshat. Rowina your the best babe.. :)

PS: Party was still fun but not at Spank prices...

All I can say to that is Korean is still a dive no outdoor smoking area fucking kills the lungs.. No ventalation whatsoever except for the shitter kills aswell...

forgot about Cap J I was motioning more towards all the Seattle talent that was brought in.. Anyways Spank had many far out of town DJ's flown in it was at the MLC it was a fully legal and I payed the same amount for a ticket explain the workings of that one.. Also if this was knowen a week ahead of time why did I get a phone call from a promoter most probably mat saying " ohh ya its all legal its at the MLC dont worry". That right there is fraud and its bullshit I feel sorry for Josh and Silverwaters for having to get dragged along some what with the shit that went down..
