Having a great career is a really important one to me - something either in Public Relations or maybe even law, having the financial freedom to take extended periods of time off work to go travel and eventually have kids (something I don't plan to do until I reach my 30s). I'd like to pursue acting and theatre on the side, paint, play guitar and write a short story collection that will get published. I would also like to have a 50 year wedding anniversary, I would love to have one of those marriages that is constantly nurtured and flourishes as a result.
I would also like to do something really extraordinary for my mom because she is the greatest and she deserves it.
It's a lot to ask for but I'm good at getting what I want

i am probably the worlds most impatient person. i am also the rudest, but i cant tolerate intolerance. someone who is working is someone who is trying hard to further their life. whether it be a doctor or a janitor.

dave has done nothing except work in the field that he desired to work in. he enjoys his job and it makes him happy. i think this makes him wealthier than most on the board that day in and day out complain about their jobs and their bosses.

i recently was offered a job that paid 20k more per year than where i am now. but i love my job. i love the people i work with and i love where i work. i work hard - i continue to go to school to better learn my job and i am constantly rewarded. i turned down the higher paying job because of all these reasons. does this make me an underacheiver? i dont think so - in fact, i think it makes me better off than most.

It shouldn't matter but unfortunately if you live in western society you are going to have a brutal life if you can't obtain at least some form of it!

I believe people aren't saying money doesn't matter at all, I think they are referring to if you make enough to live a comfortable lifestyle.

For example, my industry doesn't pay a ton, but it's enough to live comfortably. I won't be buying fancy cars or boats, but I'll have all my needs met and still be quite comfortable.

I don't actually think like that, i've had enough life experience to know what is important. But, i'd be lying if I were to agree that money won't help the process.
