Avana, it's really OK for your friends to be assholes and make fun of people for things that are beyond their control, but i can't do the same. Well tough. I'm not going to apologize for having opinions.

And as for your comment about me being a nurse and having the opinions about people that I have... When you get into nursing school, you'll learn that as a person, you can have any views that you want to have. As a professional, you're supposed to try to eliminate the impact that those views might have at work. Of course I (and 99% of doctors and nurses) might disagree with some lifestyle choices of patients. That doesn't mean I'm going to treat them any differently for it. I think that's why I'm good at my job. I will go over the head of the surgeon who doesn't want to order adequate pain medication for the drug addict because he thinks the patient is drug seeking. I'll phone a different doctor and another doctor until my patient gets treated. Again, that doesn't mean I agree with said patient's lifestyle.

I'm confused about why money keeps being mentioned in this thread too. It must be a sore spot for some of you, because I've actually never brought this up once in this thread, yet you guys keep bringing it up over and over again.

I really respect that Rawb. But I'm wondering if that would be the case today. You have a mortgage. If you were to lose your job and have to rely on EI for six months, would you still be happy given the stress of the situation? I honestly don't think most people could say that.

I'd make do. I have contingency plans etc.

I mean "going on EI" is not my goal, i'm just pointing out to the thread that in my experience, having a lot of money doesn't make you happy. It makes parts of life easier but not more joyful imo.

you seem to relate a persons job to their position in life - most people directly correlate that with money. not a hard jump to make.

when i first replied to the topic, i kind of figured that excessive travel was a gimme with most everyone.

adding to mine:
i would like to continue to learn more about digital photography, improve my macro skills AND possibly get some recognition for it from someone, someday.

theres some school in kits that offers advanced courses in digital slr photography,they have part time studies during the week in the evenings and days as well as weekend work shops. I hope i get an slr for x-maz!
