True. From my experience, uptight asian parents definately prefer their kids date asians, but if they don't at least date someone white. I work for a chinese lady who doesn't care if her son dates a white girl, but absolutely opposes the idea of him dating a black girl, hispanic, indian, etc.

i think it depends on where u r.
maybe it's less in vancity and in places like richmond
but the further away u r like surrey or somethin
then the more that holds true.

if people really do that, its so stupid. i mean, you're dating somene just to piss your parents off and not because you like them. its really unfair to that person.

Of course any of those races would apply...but think about it. For example, here in Richmond, the two predominant races are Chinese and Caucasian, therefore, there are more white guys for the Chinese girls to pick from.

I'm not saying that they're dating white guys ONLY to piss off their parents, but it does piss off traditional Chinese parents. My two best girl friends from high school are both Chinese, raised in traditional Chinese homes, they're dating white guys, and their parents freaking hate it!

There are a lot of ways to piss off strict, traditional Chinese parents, if we go there, we'll be here for days!

it's actually probably just 'cause being raised in Richmond there are so many Asian guys that it's inevitable that white girls will be attracted to them, and vice-versa!

93 percent of cohabiting white women live with white men.

45 percent of cohabiting Asian women have white partners

22 percent of cohabiting Latino women live with white men

I'm halfer, 1/2 Chinese :keebler: and 1/2 Chilean. I've been told im good looking or at least cute :p Anywayz back on to the subject, I'm just more attracted to white girls than asian girls or any other type of girl. Maybe because I was born in vancouver and I'm white washed as hell. But if the girls personality rocks it doesn't matter what race she is. You are who you are.

As for the asian girl/white guy descrepency, From what I've seen I think ratio is pretty equal between white girls dating asian guys and white guys dating asian girls. I've seen an equal amount of both types of couples. Like some of you guys already said, depending on the demographics in one area you might see one type of couple more than the other. Just the other day at Apex I saw a couple of white girls with asian guys and vice-versa.

As for djmarkpaul's comments: I think you're way off in left field...and I'm damn proud to be a halfer!
