Actually we stated $15 at the door for DUMONDE (since we expected a high attendance) and we charged it $20 last minute due to the increase flight / Dj cost when both arrived. We didn't even sell advance tickets. Lastly, even at the price of $20 at the door that is already CHEAPER than other club nights with an out of towner (which charges like $25/30).

Sharaz was there but we had too many headliners who were complaining about their slots. You should try booking AK1200, RAP, SHARAZ, GUMBEE and FALINE - put them all in one room for one night. Never has vancouver seen that many headliners in the 2nd room. You try being professional dealing with 5 headliners with have an ego of their own. Sheesh... I can't stand how you can still whine and bicker about it when the DJs actually did come. You think its enjoyable paying their full fee and just have them stand there looking pretty?

As for your last comment about tickets - all we can say is internal affairs and problems. There will not be a crystal answer to your question till the investigation is done. Refer to the official statements of the companies. Compensation was given and that is all for now till their is an answer. End of discussion.

Its just the principle!! Just because more people showed up at the door, and both members were present, doesnt give you the right to increase admission just so that you can make more money. Sorry this one last bit was towards the guy supporting solid.

A lot of you are god critics to other people's opinions, but when the tables turn, you cant handle the heat. The only thing i have to say is that if you go around telling people that your company is doing this for the scene, or our scene needs as much support as it needs, or we are trying to bring back the old vibe etc etc . . . They are the organizers of the event. Legally they can change the ticket prices whenever they see fit. Have you ever wondered why on the flyer they put the words "MORE @ THE DOOR"? For this exact reason. Things can pop up last minute and it might cost you $50 - $500 and personally raising the price 5 bucks at the last minute to ease that loss a bit would be good.

Well, I think you should do one first before you start acting like an expert / "professional" if you're such an expert on advising promoters on how to do a show professionally. Since you did state you are not running a "promotion/rave company", I wonder how you know whats professional and whats not. Sheesh..talk about complaining w/o being in the promoter's position.

NO way were we charging only $10 back than for Dumonde. For those who went to Dumonde, it wasn't even packed & Dumonde is not cheap (ask any promoter) -- how would Solid be making a buck extra off you guys. Sheesh.. SPOILED - we could have just plainly cancelled the event since we were losing $. Plus you could have walk away if you think the extra $5 was not appriopriate. We didn't force the extra $5 out of your wallet. You could have simply went to VIVID @ Sonar on the same night. Its still walking/driving distance.

Lastly, you probably won't get a straight answer till the investigation is done. Someone will post something up if their is a crystal answer from either of the companies involved with the show b/c these are heavy offenses.

Lets stop the bickering and focus back on this topic of thread on how the 2 halloween massives will be great with solid lineups/production.

ps: Solid did not participate in APEX b/c all the companies lost $ EXCEPT the company that were the hosts. We don't mind giving back to the scene but the main host is Swing Kids, which also is doing Spooky hmm.. can you see the politics here in effect? Plain and simple. Nobody does anything for free in this scene. There's no such thing as a free meal.

Yes i agree with the fact that admission at the door should be more. Its common sence, i have no problem with that. From what i read earlier on, in regards to to the du monde show, i understood that the price was established at 10, but was changed without any notice. Maybe i missunderstood and if i did i appologize. But i still stand by everything else i said about promoters of vancouver.

seems that me and you ALWAYS cross paths when it comes to comments on promoters and forutnately your the only one i can have a proper conversation with. :)
