I personally do not see what the big deal is about making it 16+ for some of you... other then the fact that you are under that age limit. If I had a say in the matter I would make it 18+, but alas I do not. Are you that desperate to prance around like some cheap surrey hooker, all fucked up?? (granted there are exceptions) Can you not think of something else to do? go to the movies etc etc...
From a promoters point of view I can understand the money vs rising costs issue, but at the same time and as stated in other posts people are leaving due to there annoyance with the younger crowd. Would it not make sense to try and accomodate them, so aas to try and lure them back? Granted there would be some lost revenue.
Also setting an age limit may be looked upon kindly by the local governing bodies as a step in the right direction. Showing that they are concerned for the safety and well being of the younger crowds, (I mean an older crowd is generally for all intensive purposes is more mature, thus more responsible.. or so the story goes lol) could maybe see a turn around of less stringent requirements with permits etc... ie costing less to organize and put on. Just a thought... I really havent the slightest as to all the inner workings of organizing such an event.
All in all I think the benefits of setting an age limit whatever it may be would more then offset the negatives in the long run.
Also I found this and I am sure its old but it amused me so
How many ravers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
