I'm not about to read this whole thread.. but damn.

I'll agree the the fathers should have owned up to thier responsibilities.. but still a contraceptive should of been at hand. And if the second child was planned, well then the fathers just a deadbeat. And I hope you we're with him for quite sumtime before thinking 'hey, you should knock me up!'

I just seriously hope your not gonna be one of those mothers that sits at home all day collecting social assistance and child tax to get by.
And then pops out another one, just to get more money.

live drums? i've never seen akeel on live drums.. u mean the drum machine? that’s two different things honnie!

i never asked to be compared.. and really don’t want to be compared with akeel and thanks lol..

ps i never said im a superstar either
we even play different genres. so y does it matter who is better?

its like comparing pendulum with paul oakenfold lol, seriously dood
^ obviously my point here is every dj is good in their own way.. one has been playing for years, another all of the sudden started producing drum n bass, after playing metal with band... u know what i mean?

ps u never even heard me play either, so how can you compare?

akeel plays on an electronic handdrum - so it's live performance - not a programmed drum machine

you're wrong.

Live drumming means the act of drumming regardless of whether it's a jembe, a conga, tabla, a trap kit, or an electronic hand-drum. You still have to play it live (i.e. hit the thing with your drumstick or hand).

Most live drummers nowadays are playing on Roland V-Drums - still means you're a live drummer.

By your logic, someone playing an electric guitar isn't a "live guitarist"

does that mean that an electric guitar isn't a real guitar,

or a keyboard isn't the same as playing the piano?

Shush Carrie, she went to music school in Kiev, and it is nothing like music school here in Canada, so that means you don't know what you are talking about.....

doppler (d)effect are a local band that do live dnb-sounding jams. There's also a crew from kelowna or something called The Cube that are a live dnb band, i think it's a drummer, a bassist, and a dude on a laptop or something...

check em out if you can find their stuff - I know boomtown has some doppler CDs for sale...

Alla that msg you replied to was for tiedye because he was all like "who the fuck is akeel." I was just letting that dude know what Akeel does.

I'm not comparing anyone here which is why i was saying it's redundant to compare DJ's.

fable is an unknown quantity at this point
I think, that without any context, the initial post was a tad childish, but this girls situation, happens far to often. Is it a product of ignorance? Is it a product of man not actaully being a man? is it a product of shitty parents? Id say, its probably a product of all three. But in these instances, a community has the ability, and the responsibility to support OUR young mothers, regardless of their attitude or situation. At the very least, aid, support, and advice should be given on the basis, that one day these children will grow up, and are predisposed to make the mistakes of their parents, if there is no significant education provided, by someone who cares, enough to share their own experiences, or an understanding ear.

I once again, ask why, do public forums like this automatically demand, glib, and cruel reactions? Is this actaully just a structure that serves as a sounding board for all of us, to be as big a assholes as we can, because its not warranted out in the real world?

My gut reaction was to tell this girl to get a clue, but really, that would be a purely reactionary comment. Almost like getting combative against ignorance and losing ones shit(wait a minute!) But seriouslly, there seems to be more than a few young mothers here, and mothers ,who have been in some shitty situations. So id say you all would be in the best position along with any fathers, to give some adivice, and bite your tongue when you feel like being fecicious.

I think all the crude and rude comments on the part of the guys, is pretty sad, and almost a bit scary. I wonder if there are a few amongst this group that will herald in a new generation of dead beat dads?

In the end, contraception/protection and responsibility is on both the women and man, or sometimes, boy and girl. But if one fucks off, the burden still must be taken up, lest we have another generation of of possible, fucked up citizens of the world.

Props to anyone who threw down some words of wisdom and guidance, in spite of probably wanting to call this girl any number of names.

And special props to cndbrdr, who,(if his words are any representation) seems to be taking single fatherdom in stride, and doing a fine job! In spite of his ability to be a cheeky mutherfucker when im at my angriest!

And to the girl in question, if you do in fact need some genuine support, there are far better groups, and communities to fill the position than this board. Im glad to hear, your still able to keep your head up, and if you need any resources or suggestions to places to check out, gimme a buzz, and ill see what i can wrangle up.
