They were closer to $500. Don't be a hater. I'm willing to bet that I'm a lot more financially responsible than you are.

If someone wasn't very concerned with money, especially living in a city where someone has to make close to $80,000/year to be able to afford to own an average condo downtown, I'd be worried.
I find that the more I talk to my friends about money, the more I learn about it. We talk about investment strategies, what we're saving towards and how we're going about doing that, how hard we're willing to work to attain those goals, and most of all, we motivate each other. Better than talking about how drunk we got over the weekend or how many video games we bought last month. Are you talking about people who brag about having money? Because that's completely different. |

Money would enhance my life and I hope to have it one day but my life doesn't revolve around it. My life revolves around being happy and surrounding myself with people I love. I just want to be comfortable, that's seriously it. If it so happens that I happen to be more than cool but if not I'll be just as happy |

But some people care about living in a place where they don't have to worry about having to move out because their landlord wants to do renos, or move back in or whatever. That kind of uncertainty and instability comes with renting. People, especially ones who have children, usually like certainty and stability.

What I'm arguing is that without discussing money, a lot of people never learn simple budgeting skills or even basic principles such as compound interest. We don't really learn this stuff in school, but to me, it's more important than learning about the big bang theory. Money allows you to enjoy life. You can't enjoy really good food without money. For example, eating junk and processed food is cheaper than eating healthy food that's good for you. You can't see the world without money. Who's going to pay your bills while you're travelling? I don't know...maybe I worry about it too much. I kind of really like money. I feel dirty saying it, but it's the truth. |

1. I enjoy helping people.
2. Most of the women under 30 that I know who are making $80-100k a year are RNs. 3. Most of the women under 40 that I know who are making more than $100k a year are RNs. 4. Most of the women I know who are making more than $200k a year are RNs 5. It was the only degree that I could think of where I could make $80k a year working 16 shifts a month (and not have to take any work home with me) at the age of 26. 6. I enjoy helping people. =) |

The public has a very odd misconception about nursing. We're like the only professionals who aren't really seen as professionals. It's weird. I wonder if it's because we're mostly women...
More guys should consider becoming nurses. |
