I stopped being civil to you about 5000 or so posts ago. Stupid comment after stupid comment really does wear on the whole being civil issue.

I could argue the same. But I don't. I'm not rude to people just because I disagree with what they think.

It's not because of what you think... as a matter of fact you've made some RARE good points. All I'm saying is that the ratio of idiocy to wittiness is pretty high in favor of the former.

Yes dear, because ALL of YOUR posts are just BURSTING with intelligence. You have to expect the majority of what is posted on such boards as this, aren't filled with good points, no matter who, or where you are on the interweb.

Just because I don't always take the time to post what I really think, doesn't mean I don't have good points and ideas.

Aren't we in a war right now? A war to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan? Perhaps not by the exact definition, however, I'm sure the lines of the definition of a word can be blurred in favorable situations. For example, for a president who has many "partners in crime" so-to-speak, could easily find a way to contstrue the definition of war in order to get another term. Why WOULDN'T he if he could? Especially a president like bush.

I.E.>>
war ( P ) Pronunciation Key (wôr)
n.
1. To be in a state of hostility or rivalry; contend.

Well we are def in a state of hostility. So that's an easy one. Potentially we have another 7 years of this bullshit, bush-shit.

You can't tell me that if it was YOUR government, you wouldn't THINK about leaving at the very least. You can't tell me that you would not "run away" --as you have deemed it-- to a place that would make your quality of life, (as in happiness, not necessarily financially) better.

if you leave it's a win for the other side, it's passive and weakens what you want to happen in your country, bottom line.

So you are saying, if this exact situation was backwards (save your posts, yes i know, CANADIANS would NEVER do this...) you wouldn't even think about leaving?

comes down to a question of character
especially with the vote so close
it's definately possible to make change happen
great things have been done with less support
not even mentioning roughly half the voting people in the country

Just wanted to be clear, didn't wanna make a post and then have u be like, well i didn't SAY that blah blah blah.

At any rate, in response. You are a very different person than me. However, I suppose it is a very different situation when it's your life at stake, vs. a hypothetical situation.

ps- We own 70% of you. I.E. Our downfall will lead to yours. Just a thought.

^ Really, how many of these people that hate Dubya and "The Man" have their lives at stake because of him? Not many... unless you count your Servicemen that are Overseas. Just because a bunch of leftist upstart college students want to jump the Border to Canada doesn't mean we should let them. Like zarlon said, it's his last term. Suck it up, pull up your Bootstraps and hold out. If we had a dipstick PM I wouldn't leave Canada. If we were annexed by the USA (god forbid) I'd be on the first Ship/Plane/Raft to Europe.

HAHAHAHA. I'm simply speaking truth. That doesn't make me arrogant, its just what has happened. With all the same corporations, well not all--but some, (70%) our economy has a large hold on yours. I was just trying to make that point, CONSICELY.

To mapleleaf >> When i said lives at stake, i meant the quality of our lives, not literally like life/death.

Maybe not in the formal sense. But in the sense that 70% of your economy depends on ours. Our companies (which we own) have a large stake in your country.

i can tell that your life is at stake because you still roll 40+ posts a day sitting in a chair, posting on a message board, you are obviously very worried and it has changed the way you live incredibly. maybe you need to take some worried-face shots for the gallery. or create the life-at-stake-mafia.

our economies are so tightly associated that either way there would be a large hit. you need canada as much as we need you, and we have been diversafying to china and the eu so we are becoming less and less dependant on you as a trade partner. unfortuantely, raw materials, electric power, a large majority of your fresh water, as well as all of your funny comedians come from canada. it's a symbiotic agreement, but things like softwood tariffs and border restrictions is helping us migrate to new things.

saying 'we own 70% of you' is kind of bullshit, 70% of what and by what measure?

Why do I have this bullshit dayjob? Because I'd be UTTERLY FUCKED if I didn't. With the cost of healthcare without insurance, alone, that's enough to make you want to work in an environment where they provide sufficient benefits.

Just because I sit here, posting hella, doesn't mean I'm not doing other things. Like writing letters to my Congress everytime I can saying how this or that bill should or shouldn't be passed. Like going to weekly meetings to promote awareness of the serious situation our economy is currently in.

And frankly, my life has not changed at this moment THAT much, I'm not going to say not at all because that would be untrue, I am more worried about the upcoming changes that are in the process of happening.

I don't want to be STUCK here. That is the bottom line reason for wanting to leave now, or soon. I don't want the borders to get closed and not be able to leave if I was so inclined. I would rather leave now than be trapped in the jail of a sickly country.
