Honestly, get the extensions. Fake lashes make me gag - it's soooo obvious they're fake and they look REALLY unnatural. I mean, it's one thing if they are to match a funky outfit or whatever, but I see girls walking down Robson in the middle of the damn day wearing fake lashes and it drives me nuts! They are NOT A DAY LOOK PEOPLE!

On another note, I LOVE HAVING BANGS. I seriously wear almost NO eye makeup. Just a base cream (MAC base light), little bit of neutral shimmer shadow or pigment (usually MAC pigment in naked) then a thin line of black liner and mascara and I'm DONE! It's SO much less work than it used to be and it looks way more natural! yay!

edit: and it's way easier to remove at night, too :)

No they're not a day look at all, I wear them at work and when/if I go out in the evening.

I buy lash strips, trim them and cut sections and glue them on so they look natural and just make my lashes look more full.
You can't even tell that I have fake lashes on it just looks like I'm wearing eyeliner and really great mascara.

I know what you mean about badly applied fake lashes though they're SO obvious

I've been considering getting bangs, how often do you have to trim them? I haven't had them since I was super young although i've had side swept bangs. I'm just worried that they're going to be too much maintanence

^If you want them to sit in the same place instead of in your eyes you'll need a trim once a week. Unless your roommate is a stylist, or you go somewhere ridiculously close to home or work it isn't worth it!

How about if the four steps take less than one minute? Does that make it better? :)

Pfft, that's over-exaggerating. I get mine trimmed about every 3 weeks. If they need a little clean-up before that or I can't make it to the stylist, I do it myself. It's not exactly rocket science :P

Your mascara and eyeliner alone * if you're doing a good proper job * is one minute alone.

...Speaking of over exaggerating.
Just because you're not as skilled as me doesn't mean you should criticize. It takes me one minute. My entire makeup regimen takes 5. Makeup is quick when you're naturally beautiful :P

^ That's excellent advice, Farrah.

My suggestions:

SPLURGE ($32): Benefit's Lipscription - exfoliating beads and lip balm set

BARGAIN ($10 + $6.50): The Body Shop's Lip Scuff and Hemp Lip Protector - exfoliating lip scuff with mint and oatmeal, and hemp lip balm. (sold seperately.)

Ps: I want this little gem (Benefit's Justine Case)

^ Yeah, I have all these products and like them too, because they aren't too harsh. :)

Another good tip is to run a soft-bristled toothbrush under warm water and run it over your lips. It's a little bit rough, so I reserve this for very chapped conditions. Also, rinse brush well afterward (duh).

bebu*funfun will become famous soon enough
i went to seattle for work and had 20 mins to stop in a sephora...it was crazy madness and was only able to pick up 2 things. I grabbed this little kit, IT IS SOOO CUTE. The box has little make up lights that light up (extremly blinding, but so very cute). Only 40 bucks and its so cute and fun to play with.

Also pick up the smashbox photo finish and it is also great. I've never used a primer before, but it is easy to apply, a little goes a long way and it feels super light on my face.

Now i am just itching to shop more. who wants to go to sephora with me?! I see all these cute kits and packages online..didnt see them at the store :( cant wait to go again!!!

Nev, I wish that I had read this BEFORE I went to LD tonight. I'll pick that brush up for sure next time.

My very kind friend, Esi is going to pick this up for me the next time she goes to Sephora!

Tottaly looking for the same thing and I feel clueless.

Experts, stop bragging and start suggesting please!

ps: I love the maybeline liquid foundation because its soooo light. However it can still lead to break outs, anything simular that would be much more gentle to my skin?

It was either with the eyelash curlers, tweezers and the nail stuff, or it was with all the brushes, sponges etc. I know where it is at my LD on Robson.

Also, I would have totally scooped up that trio powder set from Benefit if I didn't already have Dandelion and Dallas as singles. Looove them!

Rhia, I have an AWESOME Rimmel one. It's like 5 bucks, it lasts freaking forever! I also love Revlon ColorStay but they're a bit more expensive ($15?)

I'm in love with Bare Escentuals! Feels silky soft and light, doesn't look like I'm wearing make up at all. I've slept with it on before on nights where I'm too tired to take it off, and my skin is still awesome the next day. My only problem was the "Flawless Application Brush" was too coarse for my liking. Overall, this product is really amazing and my skin has never felt softer and healthier.
