Burning is the real issue here. A bit of a tan is GOOD for your skin. Straight from my dermatologist's mouth! Gooooo Vitamin D! |

okay! questions to the pros..
i like the mac studio fix because it is extremly easy to apply and has high coverage. for a fraction of the price sephora has something similiar and i love it just as much and due to the price maybe even more. unfortunately the mac fix makes me break out more than usual (high coverage...consequences..fair enough), anyone suggest other brands that carry a similar product? im not a big fan of liquid foundation because it makes my skin feel oily and it usually wears off pretty fast..and it is messy to put on. im thinking brands like prescriptives, lancome... not too sure. i have acne prone skin/combo skin. more of what im asking... WHAT IS IN YOUR ESSENTIAL MAKE UP BAG? eyeliner.. ive tried MANY different eyeliners and right now by far my favorite is the make up forever pencil liner. I can wear it all day long and it wont smudge, easy application, doesnt wear off...and contact lense friendly. $16 at sephora..best eyeliner ive bought for sure. |

if you have found products that you love, and they work for you, DONT CHANGE THEM. it can be a $3 liner from london drugs off the sale table. make up is so fickle, why change something that is broken?
my essential kit consists of - two different shades of studio fix, hyper real powder, lancome under eye concealer with an spf, one liquid liner in goldy/greeny/brown color, a pallete of six small shadows from a mac holiday set and brow and lash mascara. i really am starting to hate mac though, and am slowly coming out of my standard go to. sephora is a great line, so is benefit, prescriptives and clinique. another fave is smashbox and if you watch the home shopping channel you can get better deals there then in retail stores. if you are having problems with breaking out, i recommend prescriptives. they not only craft a color for you on the spot, all of their products are hypo-allergenic and this should reduce irritation. if you want cheap, marcelle has a good over the counter powder that has the same qualities that studio fix has. |

-the makeup could be old -the makeup could have things you're allergic/sensative to (I have friends who can't wear blue shades bc the minerals in them irritate their skin) -you might be somehow getting the product into your eyes -i don't know |

I live by my Benefit some kind a wonderful compact and bad gal mascara. The rest of my makeup is either Lise Watier (eye shadows and bronzers. as well as moisturizers) or the limited Dior Palettes from Sephora for eyes, cheeks and lips. My makeup bag is pretty small and basic.
My other new Sephora staples are their tiny nail polishes, Comptoir Sud Pacifique Fragrances, and Benefit eye makeup remover. Sephora happened last month and will most def. happen again in NY. |

I have become addicted to Benefit, specially Bad Gal ( I am currently on a waitlist for it out of Langley) Ugh, and I have thier eye contour kit with me at all times. I have had problems in the past with break outs so I use a pretty harsh face cleansing routine and found that a lot of foundation were drying my skin out even more. I recently switched to Estee Lauder's individualist foundation and its awesome. Really light and provides just enough coverage to even out my skin tone. Also it doesnt react with my cleanser so I dont have problems with it drying out my skin

Makeup Bag essentials:
Basics: Cetaphil face wash (I use it as makeup remover as well, it's gentle enough on my skin that it doesn't cause irritation), Cetaphil moisturizer (I wear it every single day) foundation - Revlon New Complexion one-step compact makeup in tender peach (I know you ladies complained about breaking out with foundation and trust me I've tried virtually every single one on the market but this one NEVER makes me break out and i've sworn by it for over 2 years now). Mascara - Maybelline Great lash with the curved brush, sometimes I'll wear Loreal 's Double Extend mascara Blush - Clinique Bronzer - Quo (best bronzer EVER, just the right amount of shimmer and it works great if you dust some onto your collar bone as well) Lipgloss - Mac 'Lust' or 'Nymphette' or 'Viva Glam V' Lip Liner - Rimmel in Tiramisu I wear liquid eyeliner and eyeshadow on special occasions and in those cases I'll go with whatever. I have an amazing set of cream eyeshadows from Revlon though and they're pretty great. |

this reminds me of that one commercial where they show all the steps that go into a photo shoot starting from the model w/o makeup to the hair and the photo shoot to the photoshopping and editing and then the finished billboard quality product. yech. |
