PS: I've been spinning records seriously for about 2 months now and I'm just now getting started to play out.
If I fuck up, the only people that will really care will be the DJs. The important thing, IMO, is that people have good music to dance to. This was always the plan.
If I fuck up, trainwreck, get frazzled and screw up, so be it. These things come with the territory. I think the more important thing is that I get used to dealing with a) decks that aren't mine, b) handling myself in front of a crowd, and c) seeing how the tricks/ideas that I have work against the setting of a crowd.
I've been playing with tables for about 3 years now... Haven't really gotten heavily into it until recently though. Am I prepared to take a stage? I don't know. Let's find out.
But I'll just quantify this by saying I'm not considering myself another one of these fly-by-nights... Just because, I dunno... I've been waiting a long time to get into this and I really feel like I'll actually work at it and keep going for a bit....
Suppose we'll find out, won't we?
