Please dont even start, asses the value of all the equiptment and rental fees, and tell me that we are throwing "BARGAIN BASEMENT" parties with the price quote in hand. Aswell as the quotes for our past parties, added up... safe to say in one show we dish out equivellant to 2 shit mlc cookie cutter parties (Crank stand, shit lights, speakers and dj booth) put together.
If we placed our exact setups in an Agro party, guaranteed youd be like "OMG MAN BEST SETUP EVER!", opposed to having that setup at parties giving us the "BARGAIN BASEMENT" comment.
Well too bad you dont have the logic and common sense to see what is good. Bias is just a big fucking fog that you cant see through.
(sorry to all involved with "AGROculture" for using the name as an example, but it proves the point on how biased "cubed" can be)
Making losses, its a risk but sure as hell love a good product. We got recognized for that and now we sell out regardless, good sound, good setup...
no bias involved opposed to the FnK market (which account MAYBE 5% of the raver population) and in the end will make or break the descison to attending due to shit talk. Ive supported people I dont tottaly agree with, why, because I love a good show, I wont let some bias tell me what is good and what is bad. Yet there are those people that always have opinions and somethign to say.
Its like saying Ferrari's are the shittiest cars alive just cause the owner might be a dick. In reality theyre fucking spankin!
We shell out twice the budget (well close) on lighting and sound due to the shit quality that weve seen in the past. Ticket prices may start out a bit more expensive, but hey, were making the best of what two venues are available in Van on a regular basis. And in the end its bussines, noone throws a rave EXPECTING to loose money.

Or unreleased tunes that arent readily available on vinyl.

Rhia... as harsh as it may sound...
please shut up wit your 100$ an hour schpiel, honestly no promoters have been following that "fabled" wage consistently (some do but its really rare nowadays) and nor will it change, sketchy promoters will always be sketchy promoters, and there are PLENTY of em. if you really did look at the scene and notice some trends, youd notice that if you dont get a gig, there will be another person taking your spot... someone willing. And the mentality for most people nowadays is be thankful that your playing out and that you were considered first before someone else. Its respect cause the promoter remembers you for something, you bring something to the table.
You may be great at promoting, dont get me wrong... but you need to work on the dj attitude a bit, ive bitched about pay before and now im not getting booked with a company which I will keep to myself, and it sucks to see some shitty dj get the spot when you knew you coulda gotten it and played better tunes. There is no room to be flippin off companies anymore, undergrounds are sure as dead for the most part too, so even an underground party is a feat to most djs.
In the end, if you dont like the party, dont go.
